So great day decided to have a home improvement segment and instead of calling Tim the Toolman Taylor (yes i reference one of my favorite 90's sitcom) they called me. Even though I felt a little like Tim ( you see last week's segment the plant fell over, Debora and I held it together and it kept it "Real Lively" ...check out segment here if you missed it. OLD THINGS THAT YOU LOVE SEGMENT )... I knew I had this one in the bag.

Flooring
tiling in interesting patterns
cement floors
layering rugs
Accent walls - instead of doing the traditional one wall a different color
a wall of chalkboard paint ... in the bedroom you can change it up weekly with a loving quote or do an elaborate script like my friends did. Below is the creative and amazing duo Scott and Brittany's Bedroom
mirror wall like different types of starburst mirrors or squares and rectangles covering majority of wall or working around dresser, bed, ect. Have fun, make it interesting, think of Tetris, asking yourself what best fits here?
ornate stencils like a Moroccan style. I literally made one from a piece of cardboard and trace it all over starting in center of wall lightly with a pencil. Once done painting with thin brush over lines with a Martha Stewart accent paint in antique gold.
Window Treatments
repurpose bedroom sheets
burlap perfect for anyplace and occasion
combining two materials to make longer curtain
painting designs on old or new curtains
Home improvements don't have to be expensive but to make them great will cost you time and a labor of love. In the end, its totally worth it. Invest in you and where you call home.
